The engagement gap

Despite the best efforts of HR leaders, only 20% of employees are highly engaged with their healthcare benefits. The study reveals that time constraints (16%), lack of education (11%), and insufficient communication (9%) are among the top barriers. These challenges prevent employees from fully understanding and utilizing their benefits, leading to unmet health needs and increased costs for employers.

Empowering employees, reducing costs

Quantum Health addresses these challenges by offering personalized, ongoing support that helps employees make informed decisions about their healthcare. According to the study, 66% of employers say independent healthcare navigation is a highly effective or moderately effective means to increase or support employee engagement with their healthcare benefits. Additionally, Quantum Health’s Real-Time Intercept® capability has proven effective in engaging employees early in their healthcare journeys, often before high-cost claims arise.

Addressing barriers beyond the workplace

Employee challenges extend beyond the workplace. Social determinants of health (SDOH) like economic instability and limited access to care can severely affect health outcomes. While 76% of employers link better engagement to improved employee satisfaction, many struggle to address these broader, non-medical barriers, leading to disengagement with healthcare benefits.

Quantum Health’s platform goes beyond traditional benefits by directly addressing these SDOH challenges. We engage members early and often, offering personalized support that considers both healthcare needs and social factors, improving outcomes and ensuring equitable access to care.
