Kerin Adelson, M.D., M.Sc., currently leads clinical transformation and value-based care efforts at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she serves as the chief quality and value officer and professor of breast medical oncology.
Dr. Adelson is an accomplished clinical oncologist and health services researcher who focuses on improving patient experience and outcomes. At MD Anderson, she oversees initiatives aimed at optimizing the cost and quality of patient care and demonstrating value to prospective insurers, with a goal of implementing innovative reimbursement models that increase access to cancer care services across MD Anderson’s national network.
She also oversees the Institute for Cancer Care Innovation, patient care informatics medical directors, and teams working in clinical effectiveness, tumor registry and Cancer Network quality improvement.
Prior to joining MD Anderson, Dr. Adelson served as chief quality officer and deputy chief medical officer at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center within the Yale New Haven Health System. She was also an associate professor within the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Yale University School of Medicine.
